Jul. 19, 2021 • IEEE Fellow • Xiao-Ping Zhang has been named Editor-in-Chief for the IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Signal Processing. He is a Fellow of the IEEE, succeeding Lina J. Karam, Lebanese American University, who has held the post as Editor-in-Chief since 2019.

Jul. 19, 2021 • Best Paper Runner-up Award • Naimul Khan's masters student, Julian True's paper, "Motion vector Extrapolation for Video Object Detection" won the best paper runner-up award at the CVPR 2021 robust video understanding workshop. The paper shows that utilizing motion vectors can decrease object detection latency 25x while maintaining accuracy.
