Feb. 3, 2020 • $474K CIHR GRANT • Karthi Umapathy (PI & NPA, Ryerson), Hans Katzberg (PI, Toronto General Hospital), Mark Boulos (PI, Sunnybrook Health Sciences), Sridhar Krishnan (Co-Applicant, Ryerson), Brian Murray (CA, Sunnybrook Health Sciences), Arun Sundaram (CA, Sunnybrook Health Sciences), and Kevin Thorpe (CA, University of Toronto), were awarded $474K from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) for their research project titled "Signal Processing Methods in Detecting Myasthenia Gravis Using Electrooculography Signals". Myasthenia Gravis is a muscle weakness disorder that can become fatal if it affects the vital muscles needed for breathing and swallowing.
