The award winning paper, A Novel Spread Spectrum Audio
Watermarking Scheme Based on Time Frequency Characteristics,
culminated from Dr. Sridhar
Krishnan's research team. Dr. Krishnan, the second author of the
paper, has been working in this area of watermarking and
time-frequency signal analysis for few years and has number of
publications. Watermarking schemes have been increasingly used to
control the theft of music files over the internet.
CCECE 2003 was the largest Canadian IEEE conference with 730
submissions and 350 student papers. In total, four outstanding
student papers out of 350, two in Electrical Engineering and two in
Computer Engineering, were recognized at CCECE 2003. The other three
papers were from the University of Ottawa and the University of
Calgary.
This is another proud step towards Ryerson's transformation as a full
fledge research institution. Congratulations to the award winners.
CCEC Award
Shahrzad Esmaili, a graduate student at Electrical and Computer
Engineering, Ryerson University won the best student paper award at
the Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (CCECE
2003) which took place from May 5th to 7th, in Montreal. CCECE is a
prestigious conference held annually where Canadian peers in the area
of both Electrical and Computer Engineering gather to share the
latest innovations.
